Cochon Cotillion 2019

Acting as the first “unofficial” ball of the 2020 Mardi Gras season, Bridge House / Grace House hosted Cochon Cotillion XXIII Presented by the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust & Goldring Family Foundation on April 6 at Mardi Gras World.

King Iggie Perrin and Queen Angelle Verges served as this year’s monarchs and celebrated with their Court, the theme “Geaux French, Vive la Cochon”! Their night began with the Patron Party in the Bienville Room featuring music from Mike Morris and a performance by the Double-Step cloggers. The Merry Antoinettes took photos with guests and joined in with Emcee, Liz Reyes, for the champagne toast.

The main event featured colorful Mardi Gras decor and food from 30 local restaurants including dishes such as Gumbo from Casamento’s Restaurant, Shrimp & Tomato Bruschetta from Bravo! Cucina Italiana, and Bread Pudding from Cafe Reconcile.

Dancers from Muggivan School of Irish Dance performed as guests arrived and then The ELS Show Band took the stage in the Main Ballroom, while Mike Morris continued to perform in the Bienville Room. A mini-Parade later in the evening featured the King & Queen and their Court, led by the Sophie B. Wright Charter School Marching Band. The Pussyfooters and the Double-Step Cloggers marched in the parade and performed during band’s set break.

In addition to the Silent Auction, attendees were also treated to a photo booth in the Ballroom or caricatures from “Uncle” Wayne Daigrepont in the Bienville Room. The Pussyfooters sold raffle tickets throughout the night and one lucky winner took home two round-trip tickets from Southwest Airlines.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended Cochon Cotillion XXIII – special thanks to the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust and Goldring Family Foundation, our Presenting Sponsors; our Emcee Liz Reyes; Iggie Perrin and Angelle Verges, the 2019 King & Queen; and all of our Sponsors, Committee Members, Volunteers, Donors, Staff, & Residents!
