Now Open! Thanks to You
The long awaited Grand Opening of the Thrift Store and Used Car Lot, now located at 4243 Earhart Blvd., took place on March 9, 2017. All of your donations made this day possible! We would like to thank Sam Joel, Policy Advisor to the Mayor-City of New Orleans, and Bryon Cornelison, Director of Constituent Services from Councilmember LaToya Cantrell’s office, for their special remarks during the Grand Opening Ceremony.
But most importantly, the highlight of the event was Michael Barlow, Jr.’s personal journey to recovery through Bridge House, which he so graciously shared with us.
It is men and women like Michael who are supported through our Thrift Stores and Used Car Lot. With your help, these two new sites and our Thrift Store at 7901 Airline Drive generate 37% of our revenues providing a place to recover for men and women seeking help.
These sites are also vital to providing residents with the opportunity to participate in the Work Therapy component of our programs. Our newsletter insert describes the extraordinary value of Work Therapy. Please take some time to learn more about this very important element of our program and how it contributes to quality recovery.
